Sassafras Audubon Society (SAS) runs a community birdfeeder cleaning twice a year at Bloomington Hardware. Keeping bird feeders clean is crucial to protecting our wild birds from illness caused by bacteria and mold build-up from old seed and droppings.
Volunteer Agenda:
9a - 2p, feeder drop-off and cleaning. Need volunteers to manage drop-off (collect donations and label incoming feeders), power wash, clean feeders, sanitize with bleach, and organize for pickup. We need the most volunteers for these shifts!
2p - 4p, feeder pick-up. We only need 1-2 SAS board members and 1-2 volunteers to cover this period.
