Tandem is working to open Bloomington's first community birth center. We need to know where all the plumbing and structural beams are on our birth center floor at Tandem so we can begin work on our birth suites.

We need to pull down all drywall, insulation and rip out carpets. It’s a TON of work. We’ve tested what we’ve uncovered so far for asbestos (NEGATIVE!) and for lead (NEGATIVE!), and we will continue to be diligent as we uncover the history of the building, but we do recommend you come with good masks (and we have some N95s here, too) to protect yourselves as much as possible from the dust.
This would be a great one for an employer/group volunteer opportunity. Individuals are always welcome as well!
We are also going to try to take out the stone reception desk downstairs… so… if you have a sledge hammer, or power tools or ideas… please bring those!
We want to get as much pulled out in one go as possible, because FireDawgs is coming on the Tuesday after to haul it all away.
