What is Hoops Hysteria?
Hoops Hysteria is a basketball shooting Skills Tournament/Contest for teams consisting of one adult and one child, who have two minutes to score as many points as possible. The event is open to youth ages 6-13 who are paired with an adult role model. The event is run in a traditional single elimination tournament style. The event is presented by Royal South Toyota and provided as a community outreach event at NO CHARGE to participants through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington.
Hoops Hysteria this year will take place at the
Ferguson Crestmont Club (1111 W. 12th St.) on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
The time of the event varies depending on your age bracket and how far you advance in the tournament. We will share that information with you once you sign-up. There will be light concessions served as well as other activities throughout the building.
For this event, we need at least 10-15 volunteers in the following areas:
- Check-in
- Score Keepers (Referees): (Will keep track of each team's points during the tournament with a score card)
- Score Runners: (Will run score card to bracket and move winning team forward)
- Food/Light Refreshments
- Basketball Face Painting & Basketball Craft
- Small Games (Checkers, Connect Four, and Giant Jenga)
- Photo Booth
- Mentor (to play with a current club member)
