Shalom Center is having a much-needed volunteer day on Saturday, June 4th from 11 am to 4 pm to work on several improvement projects around the center, and we need your help!
Shalom Center is a daytime shelter and resource center for people experiencing poverty and homelessness that is open Monday-Friday and serves between 100-150 people a day. We offer meals, showers, laundry, casework, and more.
Our goals include the following:
- Deep cleaning the building
- Spackling and other prep work for painting in the future
- Building a wall/doorway to the caseworker's office
- Reorganizing the Hospitality Desk area
- Retouching paint on the exterior of the building
- And more, depending on time and the number of volunteers
We need all the people-power we can get! Volunteers can help out all day, or just for an hour.
We are happy to work with individual volunteers and with groups of volunteers!

We are also looking for donations to help support this effort:
- picnic tables,
- mop heads,
- spackling material,
- a rug,
- bookshelves,
- snacks, etc.
