Friend's Place is Beacon, Inc.'s overnight shelter. We are open 7 days a week and we need YOU!
Volunteers at Friend's Place work a shift of 5pm-7pm and assist staff with checking people in for the night, handing out toiletries and various OTC medicines, light cleaning, and other tasks needed to ensure a smooth check in.
We are looking for someone to work one day a week, but we also need people who are only available during holidays and IU breaks to help cover shifts!
The volunteers are one of the first people our guests see when they enter their safe space, and the feeling our volunteers get after helping someone get settled in for the evening, knowing they are finally safe and warm, is priceless.
If you are looking for a two-hour commitment that will directly impact someone's life for the better, this is the place!
