Green's Bluff

Volunteers will assist in the removal of invasive autumn olive and multiflora rose throughout the preserve. Volunteers should wear long pants and sturdy close-toed shoes, and bring plenty of water and work gloves. Volunteers aged 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult.

COVID-19 guidelines require working at a distance of 6 feet from one another when possible, and mask-wearing when social distancing is not possible. Health insurance is currently required to participate in TNC volunteer days.

TARGET INVASIVE SPECIES: Autumn Olive & Multiflora Rose
These invasive shrubs reduce our forest biodiversity, increase the risk of tick-borne illnesses, and pose a risk to our forest health. You will learn to identify and control these invasive shrubs at Green’s Bluff Preserve and your local gardens and backyard. Herbicide treatment will be part of the day. All volunteers should wear long sleeves and bring eye protection.

A volunteer waiver will be sent out ahead of the event via email. Contact the Indiana Volunteer team at indianavolunteer@tnc.org for more information.
