Volunteer for one day home safety improvement blitz for older adults!
Our Safe at Home event is a half day on Saturday, October 27th. This is an event to make targeted safety improvements on older adults’ homes in Monroe AND Owen Counties on the same half day. Start at 8 a.m. for a kick off breakfast – Monroe County at Bell Trace and Owen County at Owen Valley Health Campus. Then teams will go to their assigned locations.
We really need skilled individuals for installing grab bars (in shower stalls, drywall, and ceramic tile shower surround), handrail, elevated toilet seat with frame, gutter installation (one-story) including downspouts, carbon monoxide detector. Non-skilled individuals are needed for disassembling and hauling off limb/wood debris, leaf raking, and cleaning gutters (again, one story). Needing volunteers with known abilities before 9/21 to match with project and determine which homes we can do based on volunteers.
