Description

Be A Host Family!

** WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING HOST FAMILIES FOR TWO YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS THIS SUMMER!!!**

The IU Office of International Development invites you to take part in a unique opportunity to engage with international high school students and adult educators from the Baltics in July and Southern Europe in August who will be visiting the United States.

These remarkable groups are coming to learn about community involvement, leadership, civic responsibility, and American culture. What a wonderful community Bloomington is in which to experience all of this and more! Participants range in age from 16-19 years old, speak English, and are eager for an American experience.

Program activities will take place between 9 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Basic host family responsibilities include weekday transportation to and from our office in the mornings and evenings, breakfast and dinner during the weekdays, 3 meals a day on the weekend, and inviting participants to the normal activities of your household. There is no specific type of family/home that is qualified to host.

Exact host dates are:

The Baltics (Latvia, Lithuania & Estonia) July 20 - August 4

Southern Europe (Spain, Italy & Slovenia) August 14 - 25

Anyone with a desire to get to know and care for these guests is encouraged to contact Heather Duemling at hduemlin@iu.edu.

Special arrangements can be made for households with schedule conflicts.

Access to the online application will be sent to you directly.
