Elevate is a program from United Way of South Central Indiana that seeks to connect nonprofits and volunteers to work on short-term challenges together. Examples of Elevate connections include:
- Serving on a nonprofit’s search committee
- Helping a nonprofit make the transition from cash to accrual accounting
- Advising a nonprofit executive director on a human resources issue
- Helping a nonprofit tackle facilities management
- Reviewing and recommending updates to a nonprofit’s HR or Financial policy
By volunteering with Elevate, you join Elevate’s “Bench” and make yourself available when challenges arise. There is no commitment until you are matched with a nonprofit and both you and the nonprofit agree to work together.
Elevate is a great way to make connections in a community, get to know its powerful network of nonprofits better, make additions to your resume, and find ways to apply valuable skills you have built in your professional career to help others.
