Dear All,
We are looking for 20-50 volunteers on Wednesday, October 1st from 1pm - 6pm to unload, organize, inventory, and distribute an entire SEMI of diapers (about 24 pallets). Tell your friend and neighbors and colleagues! This is going to be a massive group effort.
The diapers are coming from an UN-NAMED (important!) big box store. We will not discuss its name of the store per the requirements of the donor.
*Please let us know if you can volunteer by emailing Julie@tandembloomington.org. Tell us at what hours you can volunteer and if you have a strong location preference (otherwise I will assign you based on need and send you detailed parking/location instructions), and which role(s) you’re willing and able to do. Please include your name, email, and cell phone number. You will have to sign a liability waiver when you arrive to volunteer if you haven’t signed one with us this year.
Please let me know if you are bringing a group of people how many people you expect to bring.
Responsible kids can volunteer with an adult, or without an adult if the adult signs a liability waiver and child is at least 15.
Volunteer Shifts (exact shift times are flexible!)
- Shift: 12pm-2pm (the truck is supposed to arrive at noon… but no promises it will be exactly noon!… we’ll go over plan of attack while we wait for its arrival and make sure everyone is ready to go)
- Volunteers Needed: 12-30 people
- Location: HFI Parking Lot
- Roles Needed
- Unpacking Pallets - requires ability to lift a large box of diapers (not too heavy) or wipes (can weigh more than 20 pounds)
- Diaper Sorting/Organizing - requires ability to lift a large box of diapers (not too heavy) or wipes (can weigh more than 20 pounds)
- You will get ALL of your steps in… LOTS of walking
- Inventory - Sitting job! You will be counting individual diapers in every box and tallying totals by diaper size.
- Shift: 1pm-3pm
- Volunteers Needed: 12-24 people
- Location: HFI Parking Lot OR Hoosier Hills Food Bank OR Indiana Recovery Alliance OR Tandem OR Banneker Center OR Sherwood Oaks Christian Church
- Roles Needed
