About Us
The mission of the T.C. Steele State Historic Site is to collect preserve and interpret the property and history of Hoosier artist Theodore Clement Steele and his wife Selma Steele; also as a part of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites to serve the community as a center for Indiana’s cultural and natural heritage.
Volunteer Description
- Trails: Maintain and make improvements to the site’s five hiking trails, originally developed by the Steeles!
- Programs & Events: Assist with art projects, logistics, photography, publicity and other aspects of event planning and special programs.
- Technology & Media: Update website, produce online newsletter, coordinate mailing lists.
- Tour Guides: Learn the history of the site and present tours to visitors and school groups.
- Office: Greet visitors, answer phones, prepare mailings and other office tasks.
- Museum Shop: Inventory, price, order and display gift shop products.
- Internships: Inventory, price, order and display gift shop products.
