Volunteers will perform a two or four hour shift at the East-side Kroger, passing out lists of items for shoppers to purchase or telling shoppers about the program. Many of the formerly homeless residents of Crawford Homes Program do not have income other than food stamps, so they are unable to purchase supplies they need to keep themselves and their homes clean. Crawford operates at supplies pantry and residents earn points by participating in educational opportunities, working, doing volunteer work, or managing their healthcare, and then use those points to purchase items. We will pass out lists of items we need and educate curious shoppers about the program and the pantry.
