Get Trained to Become a Wheelchair Ramp Building Leader
Aug 24
9am-12pm
Servants at Work, Inc has partnered with Area 10 Agency on Aging, Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living (SICIL), City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County and Bloomington Salvation Army to offer a training class for ramp building leaders.
This partnership will help build a stronger volunteer base in Monroe County allowing SAWs to build more wheelchair ramps in the area, an area of the state that has previously gone unserved.
This one-day event is open to all adults in the area. The training will take place on Saturday, August 24th at Banneker Community Center, 930 W. 7th, Bloomington, IN, from 9am-12pm.
During the training, participants will be offered a hands-on opportunity to learn about site surveys, ramp building, leadership and more. The morning will culminate with participants building a wheelchair ramp on-site.
