Become a host family with Safe Families for Children. Be a part of a safety net of volunteers that care for children when a parent is in a crisis. Host families host children for an average of 44 days, but it could be just for a couple nights up to several months. The average age of the child that enters Safe Families is 4 years old. After the training, host families will go through a screening process that includes background checks, finger printing, and a home assessment.
Host Family Requirements
- Be a part of a local Christian church
- 25 years old or older
- Emotionally and financially stable
- Be willing to engage in a long term friendship with a family in need
