About Us

WildCare Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed in the spring of 2001. Formerly we were part of the Monroe County Humane Association until they refocused their mission to just companion animal services. Our focus is on providing professional care to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife so that they may be returned to the wild. We provide care and rehabilitation services to all native Indiana wildlife species, with the exception of deer. We also strive to help protect the next generation of wildlife through our education and community outreach programs.

WildCare holds permits through the Indiana DNR, USDA, and US Fish & Wildlife Service. We do not receive any State or Federal funding, and rely only on donor support to save the lives of injured and orphaned wild animals.

What We Do

When a baby raccoon was found by herself, two dogs attacking her, WildCare Inc. provided wound care, proper nutrition, and a hodgepodge family of other orphaned raccoons.

When an Eastern Screetch Owl was found stunned, laying in the middle of a busy road, WildCare Inc. provided medications, supportive therapies, and a place to recover.

When three baby opossums were orphaned, found in the pouch of their deceased mother, WildCare Inc. provided warmth, nutrition, and eventually release at a new home far away from cars.

WildCare Inc. is a wildlife rehabilitation facility that cares for ill, injured, and orphaned wildlife. Every day is different! One day a group of 8 skunks might come through the doors, another a fox with a broken leg. Alongside wildlife rehabilitation, education team volunteers lead educational programs with the assistance of non-releasable animal ambassadors. Educational events range from giving tours to local scout troops to presentations at schools, churches, and more!
