Special Olympics Indiana - Monroe County

About Us

Special Olympics allows individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to practice and participate in Olympic-type sports. Our organization is available for those ages 8 on up. We compete locally away and in area and state tournaments.

What We Do

Special Olympics on a county level is managed by volunteers. We have coaches who train athletes in various sports such as bowling, softball, basketball, track, swimming, volleyball, golf, flag football, bocce and corn hole. The management team is a group of volunteers who reach out to new and current athlete and volunteers, organize practice and games schedules, organize, manage fundraising opportunities, maintain funds and promote our events to the public. We have volunteers who chaperone athletes at games and tournaments and assist at practices.
