About Us

SICIL is a consumer controlled community-based cross disability nonresidential and not-for-profit organization that promotes and practices the philosophy of independent living.

What We Do

SICIL offers five core services to people of all ages living with disabilities: advocacy, independent living skills, information and referral, peer support, and transition.

We work directly with the person seeking our assistance and support their development of an independent living plan. We are not counselors or lawyers. We are peer support and advocates. Our services are free to the individual due to federal and state grants.
We have volunteer opportunities available, especially through an event held in the fall called Fishtival. Fishtival is an outdoor event held at Lake Monroe, which allows people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to spend the day at the lake.
