About Us

We are a 501c3 nonprofit located in Monroe County, Indiana. We provide high-quality, affordable early learning (Compass Early Learning Center) and promote economic mobility for families (Family Resource Center). Our vision is to be an essential part of a community committed to helping all families thrive.

We use a whole-family, intergenerational approach to eliminating poverty whereby we provide children with up to 4 years of top-notch subsidized early learning with all of their basic needs met, and support their caregivers through the powerful combination of resources (groceries, cleaning & hygiene items, financial aid) and long-term economic mobility (establishing emergency savings, purchasing assets).

We were founded in 1939 and have undergone a few name changes during our 85-year history, but our commitment to supporting local families remains steadfast and unwavering.

What We Do

We provide high-quality, affordable early learning and promote economic mobility for families.

We empower families to significantly improve their economic circumstances and break the cycle of poverty by providing a powerful combination of direct material assistance for the household, affordable and high-quality early learning for children ages 1-5, and individualized economic mobility services that help caregivers increase wage-earning potential, facilitate emergency savings, and encourage investing in the future.
