About Us

The Hospice mission is to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support for persons in the last stages of illness and their families. Our goal is to help patients live each day as fully, comfortably, and meaningfully as possible. We utilize an interdisciplinary team approach in the provision of holistic and individualized care for each patient. Care may be provided in private residences, area facilities, or our inpatient Hospice House.

What We Do

Volunteers are a vital and necessary part of our patient care team, providing respite for in-home caregivers, social companionship, help with household tasks, and assisting staff at the Hospice House. Volunteers also provide valuable assistance in our offices for administrative support. We recognize that each volunteer brings their own talents and personal qualities as a team member, and every effort is made to find the right niche for each individual's strengths and interests.

Initial training for all new patient care volunteers involves 12-14 hours of class time. Training classes are offered twice a year, in October and May. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for additional information about the application and on-boarding processes.
