The 13th USA International Harp Competition happens every 3 years in Bloomington. 44 harpists compete over 10 days, hoping to win the Gold Medal, a $63K Lyon & Healy Harp, a cash prize and the best kick start to a career anyone could hope for. The stakes are very high! It is critical that the competitors and the judges are not disturbed or distracted during the performances.
Door Monitor doesn't sound exciting, but it is a very important role to ensure audience members enter/exit the competition venues only during breaks between performances. You'll also request audiences to fill out a card to provide their email addresses, count patrons in each performance and ensure that everyone turns off their electronic devices. Two shifts per day - 8:45 am - 12:50 pm and 1:45 - 5:45 pm.
