The Reality Store® is a event that helps students appreciate the ‘realities’ of life and achieve a better understanding of personal finance. In the Reality Store®, students pretend they are a 28-year-old starting out in their life and career.
The students then visit stations (staffed by you, our volunteers) to determine how to spend their salaries and make ends meet, budgeting for transportation, housing, clothes, food, and so on.
This wonderful volunteer opportunity enlightens students and encourages them to consider extending their educational careers. This hands-on exercise which will teach the importance of budgeting and the impact that grades can have on future earnings. We need around 50 total volunteers to make this happen.
