The Reality Store® is a fun simulation presented by The Chamber's Success School that helps 7th and 8th graders connect academic achievement with the kind of lifestyle they envision for themselves after graduation.
Students are assigned salaries based on their actual GPA. Then, students proceed from table to table (personed by volunteers) to buy housing, transportation, groceries, insurance, furniture, clothing, electronics, vacations, utilities, childcare, pets, electronics, and other real-life elements.
This wonderful volunteer opportunity enlightens students and encourages them to consider extending their educational careers. Over 200 students will be in attendance to participate in this hands-on exercise that will teach them the importance of budgeting and help them see the impact that their grades can have on their future.
Around 50 total volunteers are needed to make this event happen at Tri-North Middle School on Friday, March 11th with shifts from 8:42-11:20 a.m. (breakfast) or 11:42 a.m.-2:17 p.m. (lunch).
