Join Us for a Magical Day of Giving!
Volunteers are essential to the success of our Angel Tree Distribution, which is scheduled for Wednesday December 18, 2024 at The Salvation Army-Bloomington, IN (111 N. Rogers St.)
What is the role of volunteers?
Volunteers will assist in distributing gifts for each registered Angel Tree family by seeking the appropriate labeled box in our "North Pole Warehouse;" after a check out process, then the volunteer will deliver the gifts to the corresponding family's vehicle. In essence, volunteers are Santa's elves who create a magical experience for our Angel Tree families!
FINAL SHIFT (6:00pm-8:00pm) is the cleanup crew. These volunteers will help breakdown the down warehouse and need the ability to organize and lift heavier items.
What should volunteer wear during Angel Tree Distribution?
Volunteers will be on their feet the entire shift, so it's is crucial to wear comfortable shoes. Since, volunteers will be working both inside/outside, we encourage a light outerwear layer, hats and gloves to increase comfort in the mixed-environment setting. If volunteers end up getting too hot, we do have a private room wear personal belongings can be placed during the shift.
Where should volunteers go upon arrival?
Volunteer parking is off site, but is in walkable distance from The Salvation Army. Further parking instructions and a parking pass will be emailed. Once you arrive at The Salvation Army please enter "the church entrance," facing the parking lot. Once you arrive on site, please check in with Captain Brenna Lee.
