MLK Day Events
Join us during the Martin Luther King 40 Days of Peace service events from January 18th, 2022 - February 26, 2022!
Volunteers will be organized into 4 different work areas throughout the building. Teams will be divided into groups of 4 persons, socially-distanced teams to help with the following tasks:
Volunteers will help with the following tasks:
- Move stock from one area to another,
- assemble storage racks,
- hang clothing,
- polishing shoes,
- tagging clothing,
- steaming garments,
- bagging off-season items, and
- basic cleaning of store: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows.
Note: Volunteers will spend 2-hours standing and may need to bend and pick up a bag weighing less than 20 lbs. Please indicate which 2-hour shift you would like to sign up for when you respond to the opportunity!
Some will be moving donations out of a garage so please wear warm, comfortable clothing, non-skid shoes are recommended. Water for every shift.
Each hour a quote from Dr. King will be read in order to contemplate how to lift those in poverty and help them to accomplish their dreams.
You will be helping us to empower women by giving them appropriate clothing and skills training so that they may be successful and independent.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old unless accompanied by a parent or adult.

- All participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
