Join us for a fun day of service this upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 18th, 2021!
Individual and group volunteers needed to help with our seasonal transition of merchandise with the following tasks: using human assembly lines to move stock from one area to another, assembling storage racks, hanging clothing, polishing shoes, tagging clothing, steaming garments, bagging off-season items, and basic store cleaning: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows.
Volunteers will spend 2-hours each. Volunteers will be able to stand or sit depending on what they are doing. Some may need to bend and pick up a bag weighing less than 20 lbs.
Some will be moving donations out of a garage so warm clothing and comfortable, flat, non-skid shoes are recommended. Water and warm beverages will be provided along with snacks for every shift.
Each hour a quote from Dr. King will be read in order to contemplate how to lift those in poverty and help them to accomplish their dreams.
Please indicate which 2-hour shift you would like to sign up for when you respond to the opportunity!
Please join us for a fun yet thoughtful day of service! You will be helping us to empower women by giving them appropriate clothing and skills training so that they may be successful and independent.
Please note, due to the current Pandemic Climate; we are accepting groups of five or less. To volunteer as a group or individually, please sign up at Director@SistersCloset.org or call: (812) 333-7710.
My Sister's Closet has an Electrostatic HVAC filter that cleans pathogens from the air 24/7. Still, face masks and social distancing is required.
This is a Family-Friendly event!
