Join us for our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. This volunteer opportunity will take place on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at My Sister's Closet of Monroe County's storefront building (414 S College Ave).
Groups & individuals welcome! Volunteer shifts are two hours, and MLK quotes will be read at the top of every hour.
Volunteer Shifts 1/20/25
- 8:30am-10:30am: Tasks will/may include - setting up breakfast - setting up work stations - cleaning (bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, windows, etc) - sorting and sizing large volumes of clothing - sizing and cleaning shoes - sorting and cleaning purses, scarves, belts and other accessories
- 10:45am-12:45pm: Tasks will/may include - cleaning up breakfast - setting up lunch - cleaning (bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, windows, etc) - sorting and sizing large volumes of clothing - sizing and cleaning shoes - sorting and cleaning purses, scarves, belts and other accessories
- 1:00pm-3:00pm: Tasks will/may include - cleaning up lunch - cleaning (bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, windows, etc) - sorting and sizing large volumes of clothing - sizing and cleaning shoes - sorting and cleaning purses, scarves, belts and other accessories
- 3:15pm-5:15pm: Are you strong? In addition to regular volunteers, part of this shift needs some stronger volunteers to put racks back into place and fold up tables ... etc. Other tasks will/may include cleaning (bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, windows, etc) - sorting and sizing large volumes of clothing - sizing and cleaning shoes - clean up of work stations - preparing boutique for Tuesday open hours
