Description

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. MRC units engage medical and non-medical volunteers to strengthen public health, improve emergency response capabilities and build community resiliency.

Monroe County MRC

The Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps is a group of volunteers that promote community resiliency and volunteer in times of disaster when activated. Anyone is free to join, medical and non-medical, as long as he/she is 18 years or older and does not have a criminal history. We are health educators, nurses, doctors, students, retired, teachers, social workers, technicians, government employees, office clerks, retail employees, and more- all professions accepted!

We volunteer in times of disaster in any number of ways, ONLY when activated. We are activated through the Indiana State Department of Health or the County EMA Director.

How to Join the Monroe County MRC

If you are interested in joining the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps, please follow these steps:

  4. Register for SERV-IN (free and instructions below)
    • The State Registry of Emergency Volunteer of Indiana is:
      • How we will contact you for an emergency
      • How you will track any completed trainings or acquired licenses
      • Where you will provide us your contact information, deployment preferences, and emergency contact.
