Welcome and greet guests and participants in the talent show as they enter the Jackson Creek Middle School. Assist them with directions to the auditorium. Assist LIFEDesigns staff with set up of the stage for the program. 5:00 pm arrival for volunteers and participants, show begins at 6:00 pm. The show will continue until approximately 8:00 pm. Volunteers are expected to stay through the show and until all clean up is finished. This time is estimated to be no later than 9:00 pm. Please do not leave until the volunteer coordinator excuses you.
Various volunteer roles will be assigned upon arrival: Welcome/Ushers, Check-in table for participants, stage and equipment crew, and concessions & raffle ticket sales table, pizza area set up.
- Welcome/Ushers will greet guests as they come into the school, some will be stationed outside the building to direct guests which doors to enter, and others will be stationed inside to direct guests to the auditorium, and two will be stationed by the door of the auditorium to hand programs and sell raffle tickets to guests.
- Check in table for participants volunteers will keep a list of participants in the program, and mark people as "here" on a check-in sheet. These volunteers will also talk to participants as they are checking in to ensure they know when they are expected to be on stage. (Each participant should be back stage by 3 acts before their act).
- Stage and equipment crew will help staff carry the equipment between acts. Equipment is generally things like microphones with stands, music sheet stands, chairs, sometimes a small card table, or anything (within reason) requested by the participant for their performance.
- Pizza area set up volunteers will help decorate the cafeteria and prepare food serving tables for pizza and drinks for the after party, which will be specifically for participants, staff involved with participants, and volunteers. Not all guests will be attending this "after party".
