Area 10 Agency on Aging’s annual Safe at Home Event, a half-day blitz to improve home safety for our older neighbors in Monroe and Owen counties, is needing volunteers for Saturday, 10/5 from 9 to noon (or less, depending on project). We have several projects that need volunteers. The types of work needed are listed below, all different projects. We have a need for non-skilled and skilled volunteers at different Monroe County projects.
Non-skilled individuals are needed for cleaning gutters and bush trimming. Skilled volunteers are needed for replacing ramp deck boards on one and building ramp at an entrance at another.
We need volunteers to sign up by Sept. 27th to match with a project and determine which homes we can do based on volunteers. If you could help but would need a different day, especially the ramp build, let us know, as we could possibly coordinate that. This is a great chance to put in 2-3 hours to make a real positive impact on a senior neighbor!
