It's time to stuff our shelves again for our Mobile Food Pantry. Help us with our important food-raising event. Our pantry serves hundreds of home-bound individuals in Monroe and Owen counties by delivering supplemental groceries to them each month.
We have our Stuff-a-Bus with non-perishable food items event scheduled for Saturday April 16th. We have volunteers collecting food at four Kroger locations from 8 am to 2 pm. Still need some volunteers to help with collecting donated food items at Kroger North and Kroger West on either shift of 8-11 AM or 11 AM to 2 PM.
And, we still need help at one of our pantry locations to help us swiftly and safely unload all the donations from the buses to tables. This requires ability to bend, lift (no more than 10 pounds), hand off and stack food items. Many hands make light work! Unloading begins around 2:15 (or when first bus arrives) until we're finished, which usually 1 to 1.5 hours. Location for this is at Area 10, 631 W. Edgewood Dr., Ellettsville.
