Ring in Earth Month with a Spring Weed Wrangle!
You'll join TNC staff for a morning of invasive plant removal at our Twin Creek Valley preserve. Volunteers can expect a rewarding time removing woody invasives such as autumn olive from this beautiful Southern Indiana preserve. Invasive woody shrubs out-compete native species by staying green later into the season, causing major ecological disruption and habitat loss. Luckily, invasives can be controlled and habitats restored, so come be a part of the solution!
Please come prepared and dressed for the weather, close-toed shoes, and your own drinking water. Herbicide treatment will be part of the day, but manual control of invasives will be another option. All supplies are provided. This work party is open to 8 volunteers aged 18 and up. Parking is available at the meeting location.
