LIFEDesigns partners with people of all ages and abilities to lead meaningful and active lives. 

We believe everyone deserves a home, a job, and access to the community they live in. Our sole existence is to provide the support and opportunities that people with disabilities need to achieve their goals. This is reflected in everything we do--with a focus on employment, networks of natural supports, and affordable accessible homes for everyone.

Our Services: Community Living, Support Services, Education, Employment, Housing

Community Living includes both Group Homes and Supported Living (including Respite Services). These are the "in-home" supports that our employees provide to teach people life skills, with a focus on community engagement, developing relationships, and employment.

Support Services includes Behavior Support, Healthcare Coordination, and Assistive Technology. Behavior Support really focuses on helping people achieve their goals of building relationships, and learning how to shape their own behaviors to meet professional expectations in work settings. Healthcare Coordination is all about helping people understand and plan for their own healthcare needs, and develop a personal wellness plan and goals. Assistive Technology is a video monitoring service that allows people to live more independently in their home without staff present at all times. The technology allows them to be connected directly to our staff, who are able to respond quickly if they are in need of assistance.

Our Education program is designed to engage our customers in their community while they are learning. Life skills and employment skills are embedded into our program. What's really unique though, is our approach. We recruit volunteer instructors for our classes from the local community. These volunteers share their professional knowledge with our customers while our employees provide support. We also hold our classes in community locations, such as the John Waldron Ivy Tech Arts Institute, and the Monroe County Public Library.

Employment support is integrated throughout all of our services, however this specific service involves special guided support of an individual from the point of discovering their skills and interests through becoming oriented and trained at their new job. We believe everyone has a unique talent to offer, and we do what we can to help connect people to businesses that benefit from their skills. 

We are an Affordable Housing Developer. We have developed several projects including: Housing Options (duplex apartments), Crawford Apartments (permanent supportive housing), and McKinley (supported living housing). Of these, Crawford Apartments is by far the most impressive. Each offers accessibility both to the community and accessible living within.
