Volunteer: Board Member Recruitment

A store without a cash register, Teachers Warehouse (TW) provides free supplies to area students via their teachers. Additionally, we are a recycling center of items for classroom use. Public school educators in Monroe, Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan, and Owen counties obtain not only basic school supplies but also materials that add creativity to teaching and learning.

We are seeking Board members who share a strong passion for education.

Every director contributes by either serving as an officer or by chairing or participating in one of the board’s committees:

  - Supply Drive                                                            - Letter-writing Campaign
  - Grant Writing                                                           - Social Media
  - Back-to-School Blitz                                           - Sponsorships
  - Nominations

While we value all backgrounds, skills in leadership, communication, finance, and organization are particularly helpful. Board member expectations include:

·       Serving a three (3) year term.

·       Attending bi-monthly meetings (4th Tuesday of the month, 4:30–6:00 p.m.).

·       Volunteering at TW on 5th Saturdays.

·       Assisting with special events.

·       Seeking new sponsors or donation sources.

·       Making an annual financial contribution which is meaningful to you.

Further information about TW can be found on our website (teacherswarehouse.org) and Facebook page.

If you are interested in becoming an active member of the Teachers Warehouse Board of Directors and helping TW fulfill our mission, please contact Marcus Debro at marcus.debro@gmail.com.  He will schedule an appointment for you to chat with a few Board members at TW and to determine whether or not we are a good fit for each other.
