Volunteer: Food Pantry Donation Needs (updated 1/14/26)

 

DONATION DELIVERY ADDRESS: 827 W. 14th Court, Bloomington IN 47404; Pathways is accepting food, cleaning, and hygiene items! We will have staff members on-site Monday- Friday from 9:30 am-4:30 pm to assist in collecting donations.
When you arrive, please ring the door bell!

Pantry Needs for January   

Food: 

·        Jelly 

·        Ramen noodles

·        Broth chicken or beef

·        Baking essentials

·        Tomato paste

·        Alfredo sauce

·        Mayo

·        Popcorn

·        Instant coffee & tea

·        Peaches, pineapple, fruit cups, pure pumpkin, and apple sauce

·        Easy on-the-go snacks, pudding, chips, snack bars, etc.

·        Easy mac

·        Chocolate chips

·        Sloppy joe

·        Taco kit

·        Bread

·        Peanuts

For food, I wanted to see if we could look for gluten-free and non-dairy options.  It would help us be more mindful of folks' dietary needs and give them some variety.

·        Disinfecting wipes

·        Laundry detergent (sheets or liquid)

·        Kids toothpaste

·        Kids 3 in 1 shampoo & bodywash

·        Adult/baby lotion

·        Glass cleaner

·        Kleenex

Want to make a difference in the life of a child? Volunteers are invited to assist teachers, read stories, and play with Compass preschool children.  

Compass provides full-time, year-round affordable and subsidized childcare for children ages two through five.  Join our staff in creating a safe and caring environment to nurture the youngest members of Monroe County families!

Respondents will collaborate with our Volunteer Coordinator and childcare staff to find a role that's right for you!

*Requirements vary with the number of volunteer hours, but may include a physical, TB test, and background screening.

Join us in supporting families in need by volunteering in our food Pantry! As a Pantry volunteer, you'll play a key role in ensuring that grocery orders are filled and donations are organized with care and efficiency. 

Volunteer Responsibilities Include:

Receiving and sorting incoming food and supply donationsOrganizing pantry shelvesBagging grocery orders for Compass ElC families who submit requests through Compass or our online ordering systemMaintaining a clean and orderly pantry environment 


*Volunteers must be able to consistently lift 20 pounds.

Pantry Volunteer shifts available:

Our Pantry is open for volunteers Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00pm. We typically schedule volunteers in two-hour shifts, but we're flexible and happy to work with whatever time frame works best for you! 

We need help on Wednesdays and Fridays as we currently have no volunteer coverage on those days.
