Volunteer: Bike Project Summer Volunteer ApprenticeshipLooking for one dedicated Saturday volunteer at the Bloomington Community Bike Project We're looking for one person to spend their summer Saturday afternoons at the shop, working alongside one of our most experienced mechanics. No experience needed. What we're really after is someone who is reliable and ready to learn. This is the kind of opportunity that's hard to find anywhere else. You'll go from "I think that's a derailleur?" to confidently diagnosing and fixing real bikes for real people in your community. You'll learn from someone who's been doing this for years, in a one-on-one apprentice-style setting that you simply can't get from a YouTube rabbit hole. And you'll become part of the local bike community along the way. On May 30 and June 6, we'll be opening the shop at 10:30a for bike sales only during the farmers market. That means we need your help to: - Greet folks - Help them find a bike - Hold onto IDs during test rides - Take payments for sales No mechanical expertise needed or offered during these shifts, other than maybe pumping tires.
