Volunteer: Bloomington Clubhouse Launch Team

The NAMI Greater Bloomington Area Chapter, Centerstone, and Clubhouse International are teaming up to bring a Clubhouse to Bloomington! We are looking for volunteers to join our planning team and make this a reality.

What is Clubhouse? The Clubhouse is a world-renowned, evidence-based community where individuals with severe mental illness (called "members") get their needs met and also feel needed as well. Following a "work-ordered day", members voluntarily work in various units to support the maintenance and growth of the clubhouse. Through this, the members gain an uplifting community, an individual sense of purpose, and opportunities to learn skills and reach goals. Bloomington is one of the largest cities in Indiana without a clubhouse, so let's make one happen!

s we get the Clubhouse off the ground, we are actively looking to:

1) Get passionate individuals to join our team in bringing this to life!

2) Spread the word to providers, organizations, employers, funders, and individuals with mental health difficulties and their families.

If you are interested in learning more or getting involved here are a few options:

Reach out to our team leader, Matthew Joseph, who is cc’d in the email (matthewejos@gmail.com)

Join one of our working groups by filling out this interest form, and we will reach out!

Fill out the newlsetter signup form to get updates.

Finally, feel free to pass this along to anyone you think would benefit from and/or contribute to our mission!

You won’t want to miss it — a vibrant gathering where inspiration can shine on all of us.  DOGS are welcome!

We are looking for 15-20 volunteers to support this event.  Duties include helping greet vendors and walkers, setting up tables, directing people as they arrive, and supporting the registration table.  Volunteers can also participate in the walk as well if you would like!

Volunteers:  Register by clicking the RESPOND button in this portal.  Once you submit your response, a NAMI volunteer will follow up with you on the volunteer experience on Sept 13th.
