Audition Dates & Location

Casting

  • Seeking: 5 - 10 Strong singers of all voice types, with the ability to blend in ensemble harmonies. Each singer will have at least one solo. All ethnicities, ages, and gender identities are encouraged to audition.

What to Prepare

  • A 30 - 60 second cut (or 16 to 32 bars) of a musical theatre song, preferably Rodgers & Hammerstein or similar style. You can find accompaniment tracks on Youtube for many songs. You are absolutely welcome to accompany yourself with any instrument, if you would prefer. Please no a capella singing.
  • Headshot (or picture of yourself) & resume
  • Week night and Saturday conflicts between January 12th and March 15th. Also, Sunday conflicts for the month of February.
  • unlisted YouTube submissions preferred but not required. Also, horizontal filming preferred, but not required. If you’re new to using YouTube and want to give it a shot, sign in with your Google account or create a new account. Select upload video (the plus sign) and select a video to upload. Select that it is made for kids and mark as “unlisted”. Then after your video is published, copy the link and add it to the Google form. Email infor@mcct.org if you would like further guidance.

Rehearsal Schedule

  • Start date: Rehearsals will begin January 12th
  • Tech week: March 7-12th
  • Frequency:  In January, 3 - 4 weekday evenings, as well as Saturday afternoons. In February, 3-4 weekday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons. The rehearsal schedule will be developed around cast and crew availability. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Performer time commitment may be closer to 2-3 rehearsals per week for most weeks.
