Description

20% of all produce grown in commercial agriculture is lost because it is aesthetically not fit to sell. This is significant in South Central Indiana where over 278,000 households are food-insecure.

Help us to harvest excess produce from local farms! The harvest is then distributed for free to those in need of emergency food assistance in south central Indiana. Most gleaning takes place May-September. Gleaning opportunities are announced through our low traffic Garden & Gleaning e-mail list or by phone if e-mail is not convenient for you. Click the 'I'm interested in this opportunity' button below to receive e-mail announcements about gleaning opportunities. To be added to our phone list call or email with your phone number. No prior experience necessary. Training and support are provided during the volunteer sessions. Volunteers' willingness to drive to the farm is not necessary but greatly appreciated.
