Considering Wheeler Mission--Bloomington serves three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and our team is temporarily preparing food at OneWorld's Kitchen Share, we are looking to fill an ongoing need for transporting food from our meal prep site to our Westplex Avenue campus before and after lunch and dinner.

If you drive a reliable vehicle and can spare a half hour, Wheeler Mission--Bloomington's Food Runner volunteer opportunity is a nice way to break up your day and to serve your community; specifically, those who are experiencing homelessness and hunger.

You'll pick up food at OneWorld's Kitchen Share, located at 2361 W. Rappel Ave., Bloomington, IN 47404, and then transport it to Wheeler Mission--Bloomington's Westplex Avenue campus, located at 201 S. Westplex Ave., Bloomington, IN 47404.  This particular description applies to our 11-11:30 am shift.

Once lunch or dinner concludes, we do need volunteers to fill a Food Runner shift transporting any leftovers/used utensils from Wheeler Mission--Bloomington's Westplex Avenue campus (215 S. Westplex Ave., Bloomington, IN 47404) back to OneWorld's Kitchen Share (2361 W. Rappel Ave., Bloomington, IN 47404) between 1-1:30 pm.

Additional shifts before and after Wheeler Mission--Bloomington's dinner service are as follows as the same activities from before and after our lunch service will take place: 4-4:30 pm and 6-6:30 pm.

We all know how a good haircut makes us feel - clean, confident, and professional! Barbers/Stylists are needed to put their learned skills of hair cutting and styling to use at Wheeler Mission--Bloomington's Center For Men.

For this shift, we will create a sign-up sheet prior to your scheduled arrival, and you will come with all the supplies to cut hair for the men residing at our Westplex Avenue campus in the near west side of Bloomington.

Depending on the duration of your stay and your speed you could cut between 5-20 heads during your shift. We are open to most days and times and are happy to work around your availability. Let's talk about your schedule!
