Donations: Donations can be mailed or dropped off at 7644 W Elwren Rd., Bloomington, IN 47403. In-person donations can be made at the barn between 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday

Leading - The role of this volunteer is to lead the horse during therapeutic and beginner riding lessons. Leaders are responsible for getting the horse groomed and tacked on time for the lesson. We require all interested volunteers to complete horse leader training before taking this shift.

Side-walking - The responsibility of the side-walker is to assist the client to participate safely during the lesson. 

Lessons are held Mon-Fri from 11am-8pm, and Saturday from 9am-5pm. Currently, our greatest need is in the evenings! Volunteers are given access to a personal portal to sign up for shifts.

Volunteer will be assisting keeping the facility and grounds updated and well taken care of. Duties include, but are not limited to: mowing, landscape, gardening, weed wacking, fixing and repairing, etc.

Give back to your community by serving as a board or committee member for PALS (People & Animal Learning Services). The board and committees consist of members that have a strong passion for helping others and animals (particularly horses). The board meets once a month for about one hour on the first Monday of the month at Switchyard Brewing Company. The committees have a similar commitment of about an hour once a month.

This volunteer role is specifically for helping in the barn with tasks such as mucking stalls, filling water buckets, raking the dirt aisle way, cleaning tack, picking up and taking out trash, doing laundry, etc.

Before volunteering for Barn Help, we ask all new volunteers to attend our Orientation hosted on the first Saturday of each month at 9am.

Shifts times are subject to change, however they are currently available daily in the afternoons. We provide an online portal for volunteer to sign up for shifts.
