Volunteer: Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs - Volunteer!

The commission is seeking volunteers to form part of committees and assist when working with education, health and other public events. Spanish Language skill needed. If interested/questions contact: latinoprograms@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3860

 

The Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs works to identify and research the issues which impact the Hispanic and Latino populations in Bloomington, especially in the areas of health, education, public safety and cultural competency.

The Commission's responsibilities include:

Develop action committees addressing the challenges of members of the Hispanic and Latino populations in the areas of education, health, employment and public safety Serve as a catalyst to promote positive public and private remedies to the multi-faceted issues confronting Latinos and Hispanics in our community and the resulting effects on the entire community Network with like-minded groups and local organizations to share ideas and information and to collaborate on projects where appropriate Celebrate Latino and Hispanic history and contributions to the Bloomington community and in the United States

Volunteer: HOLA Bloomington-Spanish Radio Program!

Hola Bloomington is a Spanish Radio Program featuring news, entertainment, and public opinion.
The program airs every Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on WFHB 98.1 and 91.3!

Responsibilities: Arrive at 5:30, set up the "live room," notify hosts/guests when they go on air and off air, record the program, be able to manage the "dashboard", and upload the program to the WFHB page.  Instructions will be provided.

Spanish Language skills are needed.
