MSC receives over 200 referrals annually from 56 local organizations to help determined women move beyond obstacles that make it difficult to find employment.  Beyond these referred individuals, an average of 800 additional women utilize MSC professional clothing, advocacy, job and life skill training ... etc.  Clients are referred from organizations such as Middle Way House, Amethyst House, New Leaf/New Life, Shalom Community Center, WorkOne, Recovery Alliance, Vocational Rehabilitation, Centerstone... etc.

What We Do

We accomplish our mission by:

  1. MSC uses a customized skills training program where enrolled clients work with skilled professionals in an apprentice-based program to learn a variety of skills sets found in multiple careers.  These transferable skills increase their chances of finding meaningful employment at a higher wage.
  2. Through resale boutique, we use fashion as a tool (Compassion Through Fashion) to help at-risk women in poverty move forward. Clients receive tools and accessories combined with image consulting to ensure they walk into an interview professionally dressed, or so they have the things they need to fit into the culture of a new job.
  3. All clients are offered unique 1 on 1 mentoring experience tailored to meet the needs of anyone needing assistance with resume and cover letter creation, mock interviewing techniques, to learn effective elevator speeches, as well as instruction on how to fill out online applications or search for potential employment opportunities ... etc.

MSC partners with over 50 community organizations such as: Middle Way House, Amethyst House, New Leaf/New Life, Shalom Community Center, WorkOne, Recovery Alliance, Vocational Rehabilitation, Centerstone... etc. to move common clients forward toward self-sufficiency.
