About Us

Autism Rocks and Rolls was started with $70 in a PayPal account and now is a booming NonProfit 3 years later. Sam, Executive Director, is 19 with autism himself. He started the podcast, but now is passionate about advocacy work such as podcasting autism awareness, public speaking, planning and holding events, workplace education regarding those on the spectrum, blogging, and writing.

What We Do

The mission of Autism Rocks and Rolls is to take the stigma off of autism and other conditions that many think are disabilities. People on the spectrum are not broken and do not need to be fixed. Those who have conditions or abilities do not want to be pitied. There is nothing to be sorry about. Sam’s wants to: Help parents understand that a diagnosis of autism does not have to be dreaded news. Autism Rocks and Rolls wants to serve as a resource to anybody connected to autism, whether that be a parent, individual on the spectrum, an educator, or someone that simply wants to learn about it. Show the positive side of autism and the world that instead of excluding, stereotyping, and making assumptions, all humans must accept, see, and tap into abilities rather than pointing out what people cannot do. Celebrate and showcase the successes of all people. Every human being, even one that society deems low functioning, has something to offer. We are all differently-abled, not disabled. Assist other entrepreneurs, in and out of the podcasting world, to take the step to start their own business and to show that with enough hard work and motivation, anything is possible. Recognize that there is no “normal” and it is simply not fair for society or rather, anybody, to determine that. To promote and encourage public interest and support of people with autism spectrum disorder, to eliminate the stigmatization, exclusion, and stereotypes associated with ASD, to develop, promote, and encourage the creative and imaginative talent, success, and growth of young adults with ASD.
