Description

Middle Way House Inc. is providing this opportunity to individuals who want to prepare to become a volunteer at our local domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center.  We also welcome those who can not commit to volunteering with our agency but are interested in learning about the dynamics of domestic violence.  This training allows for interaction with other volunteers and there are several different speakers including a Bloomington Police Officer.  Attending this training is a requirement for all volunteers who work with our agency.    Our volunteer application can be found on our website at www.middlewayhouse.org and you can bring a competed application with you to the training.  We will also have applications available if needed.  Volunteers will have an hour for lunch from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm and you are welcome to bring your lunch and eat on site.  Middle Way House strives to educate the community and prevent domestic violence and sexual assault and we hope that you will spend your day with us learning how you can become a part of the solution.

Long term volunteer opportunities include:  Youth Program; Childcare; Crisis Line; On-Scene Advocate Program; Legal Advocacy Program; Administrative and many more.  We work to find the perfect place for volunteers depending on their interests and talents.
